August 25, 2011

demoCome for a time of fun and fellowship as we introduce our Fall Bible topic: "Adventurous Prayer"; a study from the "Women of Faith" series.  Prayer: we know we should all do it more often; our days are full, our lives are complicated, and our hearts are heavy with unspoken prayers.  God knows, and He is waiting for us to turn, and tell Him all about it.  God is listening for our whispers, and He will answer us.  More ...

Children and Youth Ministry

Child and youth ministries are an integral part of our mission at Avenue Road, sharing the love of Christ as we serve the next generation.  Ministries to children and youth are co-ordinated under the Christian Education (C.E.) umbrella using the latest in Church curriculum in a structured, caring environment under trained and accountable volunteers.  Avenue Road Youth Ministries is governed by the "plan to protect" guidelines for both child and volunteer safety.

Nursery and Toddlers Ministry

Children's Programming:  Ages 0-4 years at Avenue Road

At Avenue Road, it is our desire to assist you as parents, by providing a loving and safe place where your children can be cared for during the worship service.  Our nursery (Room 1: downstairs) is available for children from 0-24 months.  Our toddler area (Room 2: downstairs) is available for children aged 2-4.  Both rooms are open during the morning worship service from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  Each room is staffed with caring volunteers who are ready to care for your child.

Junior Church Ministry

Children's Programming:  Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5

A high energy worship experience during our regular Sunday service, for kids in JK to Grade 5.  A new, exciting video-based format includes opportunities for children to worship through singing, small group interaction, Bible learning and memorization.  This program runs during the regular morning worship service:  11:15 a.m. to 12:15 a.m.

Kid's Club:  Week-Long Summer Ministry

Children's Programming:  Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5

Kid's Club is for boys and girls in JK to grade 5.  The Kid's Club provides an opportunity for kids to learn about God's love for them through a variety of activities including:  music, crafts, games and drama, and offers a time for them to interact with caring adults and other children with similar interests.  Kid's Club meets for one week in either July or August.  For more information, talk Pastor Chris Heise.

Have you volunteered yet? Our exciting March Break Kids’ Club ministry is on its way again! We are looking for people like YOU who care about the children of our church and community. Would YOU be willing to serve on our Kids’ Club team this July or August? A week of your life could impact a child for eternity. Please speak with Pastor Chris to volunteer or to ask questions about this valuable and fulfilling ministry.

Children's Choir

Children's Programming:  Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6

The Children's Choir is open to boys and girls from JK to Grade 6.  The Choir provides an opportunity for children to learn how to show their love for God through music,  and offers a time for them to interact with other children with similar interests.  This is a start to what we hope will be a future in worshipping God through the gift of music.

The Children's Choir meets Sunday mornings directly following the regular worship service.  Talk to Patti Tripp for further details.
